Lately we have been witnessing a wave of detentions of athletes at airports. On Tuesday, boxer Oleksandr Usyk fell under the attention of law enforcers, and the next day the Arsenal London pupil was detained.

However, the reason for the arrest of Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is much more serious. According to the Daily Mail, he was detained at London's Stansted airport after cannabis worth £600,000 was found in his luggage. He is now in custody, and the court will soon determine the gore-dealer's measure of restraint.

Emmanuel-Thomas now represents Scottish Championship club Morton, and in England he played for such notable teams as Ipswich, Cardiff, QPR and MK Dons.

He has only played five games for Arsenal, and even got eight minutes of game time in the Champions League group stage match against Shakhtar Donetsk in November 2010.
