Free transfer: Celtic agree deal for Kieran Tierney
Scottish defender Kieran Tierney, no longer a key player at Arsenal, has decided to leave the club and return to his homeland.
Details: According to insider Fabrizio Romano, Celtic have reached a verbal agreement with the player's camp for a free transfer. Tierney's contract with Arsenal expires in the summer of 2025, so if the club doesn't release him now, he will join the "Celts" this summer.
Notably, Tierney won the FA Cup and the Community Shield with Arsenal. However, this season he has only played one match, which took place in the EFL Cup.
Recently, 38-year-old Danish goalkeeper extended his contract with Celtic until the summer of 2026. By then, he will already be 39 years old. Other terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Reminder: Schmeichel joined Celtic in the summer of 2024 as a replacement for another high-profile goalkeeper with Premier League ties, Joe Hart.
