Unfortunately, fraud is not uncommon in football, but a recent scandal in France has shaken multiple clubs.
Details: According to AFP, nearly ten major clubs, including Sochaux, Angers, and Toulouse, fell victim to a scheme where fraudsters posed as player agents. The scammers claimed that the players had changed their bank account details and that their salaries should be transferred to new accounts.
The clubs were duped and ended up transferring around €60,000 to the fraudsters. Prosecutors have already identified suspects and filed charges against them. However, it remains unclear what specific charges the suspects may face.
