Frank Onyeka Scores First Goal of the Season in Coventry City’s 3–2 Win Over Derby County

Frank Onyeka opened his goal account for the season with a crucial strike as Coventry City secured a dramatic 3–2 victory over Derby County at the CBS Arena.

The Super Eagles midfielder gave the hosts an early advantage, finding the net in the 12th minute with a composed finish from inside the box. Derby responded before the break, as Ben Brereton Díaz equalised in the 38th minute to make it 1–1 at halftime.

Coventry regained control in the second half when Jack Rudoni restored their lead in the 68th minute. However, Derby fought back once again, with Brereton Díaz converting from the penalty spot in the 77th minute to level the score.

The hosts refused to settle for a draw, and Rudoni stepped up to complete his brace just three minutes later, sealing all three points in a fiercely contested encounter.

The victory strengthens Coventry City’s push for promotion, moving them 11 points clear of Millwall with six matches remaining. They now sit firmly on course to clinch the EFL Championship title and secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.
