The group stage of the 2024 European Championship is nearing its end, and on Tuesday, June 25, the two teams from Group D that will advance to the playoffs will be determined. Two matches in this group will take place simultaneously, one of which is the clash between France and Poland.

France vs Poland: what to know about the match?

France is considered one of the favorites to win the tournament and has shown this from the start, albeit not very convincingly. In their first Euro 2024 match, the French narrowly defeated Austria thanks to an own goal (1-0). In their second match, they played cautiously against the Netherlands, who also opted for a conservative approach, resulting in a goalless draw.

Poland had a challenging qualification for the Euros but began to look stable just before the tournament started. They were considered contenders for the playoffs, if not directly from the group, then as one of the best third-placed teams. However, during the group stage, Poland failed to demonstrate their full potential. They let a victory slip away against the Netherlands in their first match (1-2) despite scoring first. Their second match was even worse, as they suffered a crushing defeat to Austria (1-3), which dashed their hopes. Poland became the first team to be eliminated from the group stage.

The last time these teams met was less than two years ago, also at a major tournament. In the Round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup, France convincingly defeated Poland (3-1) and went on to reach the final.
