The president of Moroccan football’s governing body is said to want to focus on his political career.

A key figure in Moroccan football in recent years, Fouzi Lekjaa is reportedly on the verge of taking a new step in his career. According to the media outlet Le360, he is expected to join the leadership of one of Morocco’s main political parties in the run-up to the parliamentary elections on 23 September.

Fouzi Lekjaa’s political involvement could therefore mark the end of his tenure as president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. For the time being, no official announcement has been made regarding Lekjaa’s departure from the presidency of the Federation.
