Formula 1 drivers complain about marijuana odor at Miami Grand Prix
Formula 1 drivers have raised concerns about a distinct smell lingering around the Las Vegas circuit area: marijuana. Several drivers have brought attention to the issue.
Details. The first to speak out was Franco Colapinto. The Argentine driver commented during a press conference after the first practice session: “It smelled like marijuana. I think if they do doping tests right now, everyone will test positive. I swear.”
Checo Pérez also expressed frustration about the situation: “What really stands out on the track is the smell of marijuana, which you can feel all night long,” he said. The Mexican driver added that the odor has become tiresome and expects other drivers to voice similar complaints throughout the weekend.
Context. The Formula 1 season is nearing its conclusion, with the next World Championship race set to take place in Las Vegas. All eyes are on Max Verstappen, who has the chance to secure the championship title tomorrow.
