Former Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Lebitso excited to be a Stellenbosch FC player

Thabiso Lebitso has expressed delight at joining Stellenbosch FC from Orlando Pirates.

The right-back joins Stellies at the backdrop of a great season with the Sea Robbers where he won a treble of trophies including the Betway Premiership title.

Now the 30-year-old has been shipped to Cape Winelands club where he is expected to playa leading role under Gavin Hunt.

Hunt worked with Lebitso at Chippa United three seasons ago and now they reunite again.

“I’m very excited to be here at Stellenbosch FC," said Lebitso.

This is a very good club, with good structures, so I’m happy to be part of the team.

“Stellenbosch FC is a professional club that does things in a proper way in terms of structure and organisation. For me, it’s all about professionalism, so I hope to add value, and I’m looking forward to the new season.

“The Club has a lot of young players and has done well with that approach, and I can add value for those younger players with my experience. Hopefully, we can add more pages to the club’s history books together as well.”
