Former Manchester City star wants to leave Al-Nassr for a move to Real Madrid
Real Madrid had previously announced that they did not plan to make any more signings this summer, except for the potential transfer of an affordable central defender.
Due to this, the Spanish champions expressed interest in Aymeric Laporte from Al-Nassr. However, the Madrid club is not willing to pay the asking price set by the Saudi club. Los Blancos are considering signing the player as a free agent.
In light of these rumors, Laporte himself has decided to leave Al-Nassr. According to Al Yaum, the Euro 2024 champion is determined to terminate his contract with his current club to move to the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid's head coach Carlo Ancelotti has given the green light for Laporte to join if it becomes possible on the Spanish club's terms. The defender is ready to take a significant pay cut for this transfer.
It will undoubtedly be challenging for Laporte to terminate his contract with Al-Nassr, as the Saudi club does not need the money. However, if he succeeds, it would be an excellent acquisition for Real Madrid.
To recall, Aymeric Laporte began his career at Athletic Bilbao, playing for the club from 2011 to 2018. He then moved to Manchester City for €65 million, where he gained his popularity. Last summer, after seven seasons with the Citizens, he transferred to Al-Nassr for €27.5 million.
