Former Brazil star Robinho denied Christmas leave from prison, where he is serving time for gang rape
Former Brazil international and ex-Real Madrid player Robinho was not granted Christmas leave from prison, reports the Daily Mail. The Brazilian footballer was unable to benefit from a holiday provision allowing inmates to leave prison for 11 days during Christmas.
As a result, Robinho missed the chance to spend the holidays with his family—his wife Vivian and their three children, who live in Santos.
Robinho is serving his sentence at the Dr. José Augusto César Salgado Prison, also known as "the prison of celebrities," in Tremembé, São Paulo. In March 2024, he was sentenced to nine years for his involvement in the gang rape of an Albanian woman at an Italian nightclub in January 2013.
The prison houses inmates convicted of serious crimes, including a man who killed his own daughter and another who kidnapped and murdered a 15-year-old girl.
Once considered one of the brightest prospects in Brazilian football, Robinho enjoyed a career at top clubs such as Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Manchester City.
