Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos stays at club base amid divorce from wife of 15 years
Legendary Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos has moved to the club’s training base in Valdebebas after initiating divorce proceedings with his wife, Mariana Luccon, reports Estadio Deportivo.
The former footballer, who was married to Luccon for 15 years and shares two children with her, had to leave the family home and take up residence at the training facility. The divorce is expected to be complicated due to Carlos’s substantial fortune, estimated at around €160 million.
Carlos has yet to comment on the situation publicly.
It’s worth noting that, in addition to his two daughters with Luccon, Roberto Carlos has nine other children with six different women. The Brazilian once disclosed that seven of his children live in Brazil, with one in Mexico and another in Hungary.
Three of his children are from his first wife, Alexandra Pinheiro.
During his illustrious career, Roberto Carlos won four La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies over 11 years with Real Madrid. He is also a 2002 FIFA World Cup champion.
