Former Bordeaux player Andy Carroll found himself in a rather unpleasant situation while vacationing in Greece. According to The Sun, the Englishman was questioned by police on the island of Mykonos following a dispute with his girlfriend in a restaurant and later at a hotel.

It turned out that restaurant staff had called the police, claiming to have witnessed an argument between Carroll and Lou Teasdale. According to their statements, the man was very angry and intoxicated, and then started arguing with his partner, using foul language.

Police arrived at the scene and spoke with Andy outside, after which he and Teasdale left the restaurant, having settled the bill. However, Carroll later had to speak with the police again, this time at the hotel where the couple was staying—due to damage to their hotel room door.

After the incident, Teasdale and Carroll released a joint statement, declaring that the situation had been greatly exaggerated.

"We had a heated discussion during a private dinner, as often happens in relationships. The police quickly realized there was no reason to intervene. No one was arrested and no charges have been filed. We are very happy, love each other, and are looking forward to our future together. We are disappointed that a private disagreement became a public matter."
