Nottingham became the first club not to lose twice to Liverpool this season
On Tuesday, January 14, the first matches of Premier League round 21 took place, including Nottingham Forest hosting Liverpool at home.
The "Foresters" got off to a fantastic start, opening the scoring in the eighth minute thanks to a clinical finish from Chris Wood. Despite dominating possession and play, Liverpool failed to find the net in the first half.
The equalizer came midway through the second half. Liverpool intensified their pressure after the break, and in the 66th minute, Diogo Jota converted that pressure into a goal, leveling the score at 1–1.
Despite relentless attacks from Arne Slot's side, Nottingham held firm and managed to take points off Liverpool for the second time this season. Earlier in the campaign, the "Foresters" were the only team to defeat the "Reds" in the first half of the season.
The title race is heating up. Liverpool remains in first place with 47 points from 20 matches. Nottingham Forest climbed to second with 41 points after 21 games. Arsenal is third with 40 points and a game in hand, while Chelsea sits fourth, trailing Liverpool by ten points.
