For the first time in history! South Africa's national team wins the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations

On May 18 in Cairo, the final match of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations took place. The decisive showdown saw South Africa and Morocco's youth squads go head-to-head.
The game was evenly matched, with plenty of dangerous moments on both sides. At times, the teams played with extra caution, knowing how much was at stake. The outcome was decided by a solitary goal from Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Gomolemo Kekana in the 70th minute. Interestingly, Morocco entered the final as the favorites, but couldn't find an equalizer before the final whistle.
This result marks South Africa's greatest achievement in the tournament's history. Previously, the team lost in the 1997 final and claimed bronze in 2019.
Earlier, Nigeria clinched the tournament's bronze medals after defeating Egypt in a penalty shootout.
