The England national team won their penalty shootout against Switzerland to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the European Championship.

Regular and extra time ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Embolo and Saka. In the penalty shootout, the English were more accurate, converting all five of their shots.

Interestingly, this was only the second time out of ten penalty shootouts in major international tournaments that England has converted 100% of their penalties.

The first time the "Three Lions" achieved this was in Euro 1996 against Spain, where they converted 4 out of 4 shots.

In the semi-final of the continental championship, England will face the winner of the Netherlands vs. Turkey match.
