Former Manchester United and England midfielder is convinced the club needs to be much more meticulous in its transfer dealings.

Details: The legendary 51-year-old ex-midfielder of Manchester United, Paul Scholes, now a television pundit, has criticized the Red Devils' 23-year-old Belgian goalkeeper, Senne Lammens.

In Scholes' opinion, Lammens is not a top-class goalkeeper, and the club should have tried to sign Donnarumma instead:

"You buy this guy from Belgium. He costs 20 million euros (£18.2 million). I think that says it all. For me, it means he's not a top goalkeeper.

As soon as that man (Donnarumma) became available, you go to Paris, get him, and give him whatever he wants." Scholes said.

Senne Lammens joined Manchester United in September 2025 from Antwerp for 21 million euros. He has already played 19 matches for United, conceding 28 goals and keeping just three clean sheets.

Lammens' current contract with United runs until 2030, and according to Transfermarkt, his market value is 25 million euros.
