For heated arguments with referees, Embiid ejected in NBA game
Philadelphia faced off against San Antonio in an NBA regular-season game, securing a 111-106 victory, but the match ended prematurely for star player Joel Embiid.
Details: Midway through the second quarter, Joel made a rough play against Victor Wembanyama, prompting referee Jenna Schroeder to immediately call a flagrant foul. Embiid reacted sharply, contesting the decision, which earned him a technical foul.
However, he didn’t stop there. Upon reaching the bench, he continued his protests, aggressively approaching the officials. He was restrained by teammate Kyle Lowry, coach Nick Nurse, and several assistants.
Schroeder issued a second technical foul, sealing Embiid’s fate for the night – he was ejected. This marks the second ejection of his career.
Reminder: The Charlotte Hornets have hit rock bottom in the NBA, with the team embroiled in an embarrassing situation following a disastrous pre-Christmas campaign.
