Football takes a back seat. The Granada vs Athletic match will be completed tomorrow

Today, during the 16th round match of La Liga, between Granada and Athletic Bilbao, a tragic incident occurred. The match had to be halted in the 18th minute due to a spectator suffering a fatal heart attack in the stands.

Doctors from both clubs, along with Red Cross members present at the stadium, immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation and tried for over 20 minutes to revive the individual, unfortunately without success. Once the fan's death was confirmed, the referee, La Liga representatives, and both teams agreed to suspend the match. Granada used the stadium's public address system to inform participants and fans about the reason for halting the match, and all present paid tribute to the deceased supporter with applause.

La Liga, after consulting both clubs and examining the schedule, has decided that the remaining 78 minutes of the Granada vs. Athletic match will be played on December 11th at 20:00 Central European Time.
