At the 16th-round La Liga match between Granada and Athletic a tragedy occurred.

The match was halted midway through the first half due to a spectator feeling unwell in the stands. Athletic's goalkeeper, Unai Simon, noticed the incident from the pitch and signaled the head referee to stop the game. The medical team attempted emergency aid for the fan who suffered a heart attack. Unfortunately, they were unable to save the fan, and he passed away.

It's already confirmed that the match won't resume today. According to preliminary information, the game will be completed on Monday, December 11. The exact kickoff time will be announced shortly.

Granada has expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased through their social media platforms.
