Following Gündogan and Sané: Bernardo Silva opens talks with Galatasaray
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva's contract with the club expires this summer. With no talks of an extension on the table, the Portuguese international is actively searching for a new destination—and a Turkish powerhouse has entered the race for his signature.
Details: According to insider Nicolò Schira, Galatasaray are making a serious move for Bernardo Silva and have already opened negotiations to sign the Portuguese star as a free agent from July.
Ilkay Gündogan, the German midfielder—one of Silva’s closest friends and former Manchester City teammate—could play a decisive role in this potential transfer. Gündogan has given the Portuguese midfielder a comprehensive rundown of the Galatasaray project, which may prove pivotal in Silva’s decision-making process.
The club and Silva’s representatives are continuing talks over the terms of a future contract, and a deal with the Turkish outfit could be finalized in the near future.
Notably, this season the Portuguese midfielder has featured in 27 matches, registering only one goal and two assists. Transfermarkt currently values him at €27 million.
Reminder: Galatasaray are also making moves to sign Fabian Ruiz from PSG.
