Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has addressed speculation regarding the possible appointment of José Mourinho as the new head coach of Los Blancos.
Details: In his statement, the club chief dismissed rumors suggesting the Portuguese manager is currently a candidate for the role.
"This issue is not on the agenda right now... It's not true that the president always single-handedly chooses the coach," Pérez emphasized, hinting at a collective decision-making process within the club.
Despite denying any ongoing negotiations, Florentino praised 'The Special One' for his contribution to the club's historic successes:
"Mourinho was with us, he raised our level of competitiveness, and thanks to that foundation we won six Champions League trophies in ten years."
It's worth noting that the legendary manager led Real Madrid from 2013 to 2015, during which time he won La Liga, as well as the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
Reminder: Florentino Pérez previously stated that winning the Champions League is easier than La Liga.
