Flick is not counting on the defender, who spent the season on loan at Girona

Barcelona continues to plan their squad for the upcoming season and is set to decide the futures of players who spent the last season on loan.

According to Gabriel Sans, center-back Eric García was part of Xavi's plans, but Hansi Flick does not consider him necessary for the squad.

Last season, Eric García was on loan at the sensational Girona, which qualified for the Champions League for the first time in its history. García was a key player for Girona and was among the top three candidates for the team's Player of the Season award, as voted by the fans.

It is expected that Girona will attempt to purchase Eric García from Barcelona. The player himself is open to this move if Barcelona does not offer him a chance.
