The first world record was set at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships, which are being held in Glasgow, Scotland, on the first weekend of March.

The Netherlands' Femke Bol ran the 400 metres in 49.17 seconds. Interestingly, Bol broke her own world record, which she had previously set in 2024 - 49.24 seconds.

Femke Bol, 24, was a bronze medallist at the 2020 Olympics. At the 2022 World Indoor Championships, the Dutch athlete was silver medallist in the 400 metres and 4x400 metres relay.

Earlier, we reported that Scotland's Kerr won the gold medal in the 3000 metres at the World Athletics Championships.
