On Tuesday, July 14, France and Spain met in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with a place in the final at stake.
La Roja found the net once in each half. Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring from the penalty spot before the break, and Pedro Porro doubled Spain's advantage in the second half.
France were unable to produce a response and failed to score, as Spain secured a 2-0 victory to book their place in the World Cup final. It will be La Roja's first appearance in the final since 2010.
France, meanwhile, missed out on the chance to reach a third consecutive World Cup final and will instead compete in the third-place play-off. Spain will face the winner of the other semi-final between Argentina and England.
The final will be played on Sunday, July 19, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 CET.
