Arsenal hosted Brighton at the Emirates in the 3rd round of the Premier League.

The Gunners had the upper hand in the first half and went into the break with a minimal advantage. In the 38th minute, Kai Havertz put the red and whites ahead after a pass from Bukayo Saka.

At the beginning of the second half, a key event occurred that largely determined the outcome of the match. Declan Rice received a second yellow card and was sent off for unsporting behavior, as interpreted by the referee.

After this incident, Arsenal no longer had a significant advantage, and at times, the visitors even looked more dangerous.

No more goals were scored in this match. Arsenal dropped points for the first time this season after two wins at the start of the championship.
