Manchester City midfielder James McAtee has emerged as a transfer target for Fiorentina, according to La Nazione via Tuttomercatoweb. The Italian club is showing strong interest in the attacking midfielder from the Citizens and is hoping to secure the transfer for under €20 million.
According to the report, the Florence side began exploring the possibility of signing McAtee as early as 2024, with initial contacts established back in January. Now, the Viola are ready to resume negotiations, especially since the player's contract with City expires in the summer of 2026.
For reference, the 22-year-old Manchester City academy product spent previous seasons on loan at Sheffield United, and in the most recent campaign, he featured in 27 matches for City's first team, scoring seven goals. He also delivered standout performances for England's U21 side at Euro 2025, where he became one of the team's leaders and helped them clinch the European title.
