FIFA to allocate funds for the construction of three stadiums in Guinea
FIFA continues its efforts to develop football infrastructure worldwide, and now it's Guinea's turn.
Details: The world football governing body has allocated $1.5 million for the construction of three stadiums with artificial turf. The facilities will be built in the Guinean region of Mamou, which was recently visited by FIFA representatives.
During a meeting with FIFA representative Maki Diop, the secretary-general of the Guinean Football Federation, Ibrahima Blasco Barry, expressed gratitude to FIFA for its role in developing football in the country.
Barry also emphasized that Mamou is a rapidly growing city with a strong interest in football, but the lack of proper facilities has prevented the sport from fully flourishing there.
According to FIFA's requirements, the stadiums must be completed within ten months. Diop welcomed the Guinean authorities' initiative in providing land for the construction of a modern stadium that meets FIFA standards.
Reminder: It was previously reported that the world football governing body will not monitor human rights compliance in Saudi Arabia, which is set to host the 2034 World Cup.
