Brazilian football barely had time to recover from a scandal involving the local federation’s leadership before being rocked by yet another controversy.

Details: FIFA is investigating the invitation extended to Carlo Ancelotti to become head coach of the Seleção, due to the involvement of agent Diego Fernandez in the process. According to regulations, every agent must be licensed to carry out such activities, but Globo reports that Fernandez did not possess the necessary credentials.

Now, the world football governing body is demanding all documents and payments signed by Fernandez, while the Brazilian federation claims the deal was orchestrated by the previous administration.

Representatives of the agent have stated that he acted merely as a consultant and will soon submit all relevant paperwork to obtain an agent’s license and seek compensation for his services amounting to €1.2 million.

Reminder: In the near future, elections are expected to be held for the new president of the Brazilian federation following Ednaldo Rodrigues’ suspension from office.
