Fewer players, more quality – Mamelodi Sundowns coach outlines squad overhaul plans

Mamelodi Sundowns have wrapped up their Club World Cup campaign and will now enjoy a short break before preparing for the upcoming season. Head coach Miguel Cardoso has shared his vision for the team moving forward.
Details: Cardoso revealed that he aims to reduce the size of the squad, focusing on building a smaller but more refined group of players. The emphasis, he said, will be on raising the overall quality within the team.
Quote: “We want to reduce the number of players in the squad, make it a smaller group, but also bring in higher-quality players—so reduce the numbers, but increase the quality,” said the Sundowns boss.
Reminder: As previously reported, after three rounds of the group stage, Mamelodi Sundowns finished with four points, Fluminense with five, and Borussia Dortmund with seven.
