Ferrari's troubles: Leclerc falls ill ahead of Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix
The start of the Formula 1 season has hardly been a success story for Ferrari. In the Constructors’ Championship, the Scuderia sits fourth, trailing the front-runners from McLaren by a significant margin. Now, just before the first European Grand Prix of the year, the team is facing personnel issues as well.
Details: Ferrari has announced that Charles Leclerc will not participate in today’s events due to health concerns. The Scuderia hopes he will recover in time for tomorrow, when the first practice sessions for the Emilia-Romagna round get underway.
Quote: “Charles is not feeling well and will not be on track today. He will rest and focus on recovery, and we expect him to be back in the car tomorrow,” reads Ferrari’s statement.
Reminder: Leclerc currently holds fifth place in the drivers’ standings, trailing fourth-placed George Russell by 40 points. Meanwhile, there will be definite changes at Alpine for the Italian round, as the team had already decided after the Miami Grand Prix to replace Jack Doohan with Franco Colapinto.
