Fernando Alonso visits Barcelona fan zone as Catalunya circuit ambassador

Formula 1 star Fernando Alonso was recently named the official ambassador for the Spanish Grand Prix circuit in Catalunya. In his new role, the renowned driver visited the F1 fan zone in Barcelona, sharing a video from the event on his Instagram page.
Alonso took the stage before a roaring crowd of passionate fans, cheering both for the Spanish ace himself and his team, Aston Martin.
"Taking to the stage in Barcelona… @fernandoalo_oficial!💚 Kicking off #SpanishGP week with a bang at the Barcelona Fan Village," the official Aston Martin Instagram account captioned the video.
As a reminder, this weekend will see the next round of Formula 1—the Spanish Grand Prix at the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona. For Fernando Alonso, it's another opportunity to score his first points of the season after previous unsuccessful attempts.
It's worth noting that during the Monaco Grand Prix, Alonso was forced to retire due to engine problems—his car stalled in the middle of the race.
Currently, Oscar Piastri of McLaren continues to lead the Formula 1 standings, closely pursued by his teammate Lando Norris.
