Former AS Roma and Belgium star Radja Nainggolan has shared details about his recent arrest on drug trafficking suspicions in an interview with Het Nieuwsblad.

The midfielder, who currently plays for Temse-Lokeren, was detained as part of a large-scale investigation into cocaine smuggling from South America to Europe via the Port of Antwerp. Seventeen other individuals were also arrested in connection with the case. Nainggolan was questioned and released the next day.

"I was interrogated for four hours. When they wanted to take me to the judge, it was already six in the evening. They told me I would spend the night in a cell. It felt like I was Pablo Escobar, but I have nothing to do with the drugs my friend was involved with. They just wanted to know what kind of relationship I had with him. Prison is a very strange experience, one I never want to repeat. They made me look like a drug dealer," Nainggolan revealed.

The Belgian footballer is suspected of being involved in suspicious financial transactions with Nasr-Eddin Sekkaki, the main suspect in the case.
