The Cameroonian midfielder announced his decision on Monday, bringing to an end a career spanning nearly a decade.

With the Indomitable Lions, Frank Zambo Anguissa has made 67 appearances and scored five goals since his debut. Having now decided to retire from the Cameroon national team, the 30-year-old has received a heartfelt tribute from the Cameroonian Football Federation.

In a statement, FECAFOOT paid tribute to the Napoli midfielder’s career and commitment.

“The Cameroonian Football Federation has noted, with great emotion and gratitude, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s decision to bring his international career with Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions to an end. For nearly a decade, the midfielder has consistently embodied the values of Cameroonian football with dedication and selflessness.

“André-Frank Zambo Anguissa leaves behind a record of sixty-seven caps and five goals in the national team shirt, but above all the image of an exceptional player, a tireless pillar in midfield, whose power, selflessness and leadership have left a lasting mark on the Indomitable Lions’ style of play.

“FECAFOOT wishes to express its deepest gratitude to André-Frank Zambo Anguissa for his unfailing commitment, his professionalism and his constant dedication to the national team.”
