Manchester United's most expensive signing of the summer is in no rush to make his debut.

Details: According to Sky Sports journalist Danyal Khan, Carlos Baleba is due to return around mid-September, potentially for the match against Manchester City or Fulham. However, there is also a chance that the Cameroonian will not feature for the Red Devils until October, with the three-week international break potentially delaying his return.

Baleba joined United from Brighton for £65 million plus £5 million in add-ons and has already passed his medical, signing a five-year contract with an option to extend until 2032. The 22-year-old midfielder arrived at Old Trafford nursing an ankle ligament injury picked up in pre-season, which had already forced him to miss the Seagulls' friendlies against Strasbourg, Roma and Bologna.

Michael Carrick is expected to take a cautious approach with his new holding midfielder, who became the club's third midfield signing of the summer after Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. It's worth noting that Baleba is the most expensive acquisition of Manchester United's entire summer transfer window.

Reminder: Carlos Baleba Passes Manchester United Medical Ahead of £70m Brighton Transfer.
