On Sunday, June 22, in the second round of the Club World Cup, Moroccan side Wydad faced off against Turin's Juventus.
The start of the match was a nightmare for the African club—by the 16th minute, Juve were already up 2-0. However, before the break, Benachhem's men managed to pull one back: Nordin Amrabat delivered a clever pass to Tembinkosi, who lobbed the ball over Di Gregorio.
This goal was Wydad's first of the tournament, and the team's fans celebrated in spectacular fashion, lighting up flares. The thick smoke created visibility issues, forcing the referee to pause the match for several minutes.
The first half ended 2-1 in favor of the Italians. It's worth noting that if Wydad lose, they will be eliminated from playoff contention, making their final match against Al Ain a mere formality.
