Fans rally behind Arturo Vidal after nightmare match against Racing in Copa Libertadores

Colo-Colo star Arturo Vidal took to his Instagram stories to share an emotional message from a fan, who offered the midfielder his unwavering support.
The fan's post came in the wake of Vidal's disappointing performance—and that of the entire Colo-Colo squad—during their Copa Libertadores clash against Racing Avellaneda. The Chileans suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat, with Arturo being sent off midway through the second half.

“What happened yesterday was a mistake, just like the ones ALL of us make at some point. We always knew you had that (on-pitch personality), and you’ve always stood out from the crowd... I’m not defending what you did yesterday, but I understand the frustration you felt; rage and helplessness can drive anyone to errors, and that’s part of who you are. Still, you’ve given far more positives than negatives to the whole country, not just to the Colocolinos. I’ll support you till the end, forever, because you’re the BEST IN HISTORY, no matter who that bothers. Chacoteros, you forget that last year the King made you champions by scoring in the final minute in Copiapó, and that he kept us alive in the Libertadores last year with that spectacular header in Lima, among other feats. They just don’t get what a class player he is,” the fan wrote.
