The Marco Silva era at London’s Fulham has come to an end.
Details: The capital club has officially confirmed that the Portuguese manager is stepping down from his role as head coach, a post he held for the past five years.
As he leaves, Marco Silva bid a heartfelt farewell to the Cottagers’ supporters:
"From day one, I asked you to always be with us. And that is exactly what you have done for the past five years. We’ve achieved a lot together. My staff and I always felt your support – it will never be forgotten. Fulham will forever remain in my heart, and sooner or later, I will definitely return to Craven Cottage."
According to talkSPORT, Silva is heading back home to take charge of Lisbon’s Benfica – the parties have already agreed on a "2+1" year contract.
Reminder: A Fulham player retired at just 21.
