Arsenal and Chelsea faced off in the 13th round of the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
The first half treated fans to an uncompromising battle, with players from both sides putting everything on the line and sparing neither themselves nor their opponents. One of these heated moments was destined to end with a sending-off, and the referee did not show any leniency to Moisés Caicedo.
The Ecuadorian midfielder went in hard on Mikel Merino’s leg, and he himself needed medical attention afterwards. Taylor initially showed him a yellow card, but after a VAR review, he changed his mind and sent the Chelsea player off.
Interestingly, Caicedo himself was visibly shocked by the referee’s call, even though the replay clearly showed the foul warranted a straight red.
