The Spanish Super Cup final between Barcelona and Real Madrid saw its first contentious moment already in the opening half.
Details: In the 22nd minute, Real defender Álvaro Carreras crashed into Lamine Yamal with a studs-up challenge, inflicting serious pain on the Barcelona winger. Yet the referee chose not to issue any punishment—not even a yellow card, let alone a red. Despite the knock, Yamal managed to continue playing.
By the 35th minute, the score remained goalless.
