Hürzeler appears to have already made his position clear over a possible move to Old Trafford.

Details: According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler does not want to join Manchester United. The German has recently been linked with the job amid growing pressure on Michael Carrick, but the 33-year-old is reportedly not interested in making the switch.

Earlier on Thursday, Dailysports reported, citing Manchester United correspondent Samuel Luckhurst, that senior figures at the club regard Hürzeler as the standout Premier League candidate to replace Carrick if the current head coach is dismissed. Brighton would also demand significant compensation before allowing their manager to leave.

Carrick's position has come under even more pressure following Manchester United's 4-1 Champions League defeat away to Como on October 21. That result extended the Red Devils' winless run to seven matches in all competitions. No official decision regarding Carrick's dismissal has been announced.

It is worth noting that Brighton officially extended Hürzeler's contract on May 7, 2026. The German coach, who arrived from St Pauli in 2024, is now tied to the Seagulls until June 2029.
