Failed doping test due to sex: Triathlete Imogen Simmonds denies taking banned substances

Swiss triathlete Imogen Simmonds tested positive for ligandrol in a doping test conducted last December. However, she took to Instagram to assert her innocence, explaining how the banned substance ended up in her system.
According to Simmonds, the substance was ingested by her partner, who had been taking ligandrol without her knowledge to enhance his physical condition. She claims that the banned substance entered her body through sexual contact with him.
Refusing to accept the test results, Simmonds and her boyfriend submitted hair samples to support her defense. The new tests confirmed a positive result for her partner but a negative one for Simmonds, reinforcing her claim that she had not knowingly consumed the substance.
"We have hired the best expert in the world to help us present the evidence in my case, and we will submit our findings to IRONMAN/ITA within the required deadlines and in accordance with their procedures," the Swiss athlete stated.
