F1 legend David Coulthard proposes to model girlfriend 24 years his junior
Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard, 53, is set to marry his stunning model girlfriend, Sigrid Silversand. The proposal took place during their getaway to Mauritius, as revealed by Coulthard’s former team boss Eddie Jordan in an article for Boat International.
"I've got to send a very special congratulations to my old mate David Coulthard, who's just run off to Mauritius and got engaged to a Swedish model 24 years his junior!" Jordan shared.
Silversand, 29, admitted that the proposal came as a complete surprise, as Coulthard is excellent at keeping things under wraps. She also revealed that he even sought her parents' permission before popping the question.
The couple’s relationship first became public in 2023. Before that, in 2022, Coulthard separated from his wife, Karen Minier, after nine years of marriage. The former couple shares a son, Dayton, who was born in 2008.
Coulthard is a 13-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner and remains a respected figure in motorsport.
