Ex-NFL player Brady Poppinga accuses doctors of causing his son’s death
Former NFL player Brady Poppinga and his wife Brooke have filed a lawsuit against the doctors who treated their 17-year-old son Julius, according to TMZ. The couple believes that the medical staff at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center failed to provide proper care, which led to their son’s death.
In the lawsuit, the parents claim that they brought their son to the hospital on August 27, 2023, after he complained of chest pain and difficulty breathing. Julius was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he remained for several days. On August 29, Julius began to lose and regain consciousness, and later woke up in tears, crying that he felt like he was going to die.
Poppinga and his wife are convinced that at this moment, a doctor made a negligent mistake, mistakenly diagnosing Julius with a panic attack. The doctor administered medication to him, but shortly after, their son passed away.
An autopsy revealed that Julius died from a pulmonary embolism. The Poppingas have now filed a malpractice lawsuit, seeking compensation for the death, though the amount of damages remains unspecified.
