Former Manchester United forward Giuseppe Rossi, who retired from professional football in 2023, is set to play his farewell match on March 22, 2025. According to The Sun, the Italian has extended a special invitation to his former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Rossi acknowledged that while his playing time at United was limited, he has always cherished his warm relationship with Ferguson.

“I did little at United but he treats me like Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored 1,000 goals. Ferguson will be there (at his farewell match) as a coach. He was my first coach, I signed when I was 17. I only did three years with him and played little, but he immediately said yes and this shows what kind of person he is,” Rossi shared.

During his three years at Old Trafford, Rossi made just 14 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring four goals.

Following his departure from United, he played for Villarreal and Fiorentina before moving to MLS with Real Salt Lake. He concluded his career at Italian side SPAL.

The farewell match will also feature several footballing icons, including Luca Toni, Antonio Cassano, Sébastien Frey, Borja Valero, and Gabriel Batistuta.
