The transfer of former Inter players to Milan is not unusual, but it nevertheless stirs up controversy amongst fans. And one such transfer could well happen as early as this summer.

Inter paid €74 million for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku in 2019, and although the Belgian hasn't caught on with the local fans, another Milan club may want him. According to Calciomercato, Milan are considering the possibility of renting the 31-year-old forward.

However, the Belgian is more of a backup option in case of failure to sign Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee, who is the main target of the Rossoneri. Not in favour of Lukaku says and the salary of the Belgian - 7.5 million euros.

Therefore, Milan are betting odds on the Dutch forward, whose €40 million clause will be activated on 1 July.
