Ex-FIFA referee believes PGMOL should have a word with Delap. What's the issue?

Last season, Liam Delap racked up more yellow cards than anyone else, alongside Flynn Downes and Sasa Lukic, despite not being a defensive-minded player. And former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett believes this is something that needs to be addressed.
Details: The ex-FIFA referee stated that Chelsea's coaching staff should work on their new signing's discipline, including inviting referees to speak with him.
Quote: "During pre-season, a coach has the opportunity to invite a referee, together with a referees' administrator, to come and speak with the players. When it comes to a player you're, so to speak, taking under your wing, the coach can have a huge influence.
In the past, if any player argued with the referee's decisions, Brian Clough would immediately take action. The coach shapes a footballer's behavior. Of course, you want to see strength in a player, but above all, you want technical ability to come to the fore, not aggression," Hackett told Football Insider.
