Mamelodi Sundown is the only South African team that was also lucky enough to participate in this expanded tournament, knowing that it is one of the four African clubs that will participate, namely Esperance de Tunis from Tunisia, Wydad from Morocco, in addition to Namely and Mamelodi sundowns.
Mamelodi Sun downs will be in a major competitive group that includes Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense FC and Ulsan HD, so it is expected that this competition will be great between the clubs in this group, as Portuguese coach Miguel Cardoso confirmed that they will participate very effectively in the upcoming tournament in America.
