Everton hosted their fierce rivals, Liverpool, in the city derby as part of a rescheduled match in the 29th round of the Premier League.

In the 27th minute, Jarrad Branthwaite put the "Toffees" ahead, ending the team's goal drought in the derby that had lasted 438 minutes.

Prior to this, the last time Everton scored against Liverpool was back in December 2021 (the goal by Demarai Gray).

Heading into today's match, Everton was in 16th place in the league, while Liverpool was second in the title race and could not afford to drop points.

Earlier it was reported that Liverpool want to bring in Feyenord's head coach. But there was a problem in the negotiations.
