Manchester City's Norwegian striker, Erling Haaland, has won the Golden Player Man of the Year award at the Golden Boy 2023, journalist Fabrizio Romano reports.
This award is given to the best player of the year without reference to age, as is the case with the main Golden Boy award. We would like to add that Lothar Matthäus, Hristo Stoichkov, Juan Sebastian Veron, Pavel Nedved, Cesc Fabregas, Andriy Shevchenko and others voted for Erling.
As a reminder, Golan received the prestigious Golden Boy award on 21 November 2020. He was named the best player of the year in Norway. The best player of Borussia Dortmund this season. In May 2022, Manchester City announced the player's transfer to their squad. He became a Citizens player on 1 July.
Last season, the 23-year-old scored 54 goals and provided 9 assists for the Citizens, while this season he scored 17 goals and 4 assists. The team won the English Championship, the FA Cup and the Champions League.
