Christian Eriksen is likely to leave Manchester United next summer as his contract expires at the end of this season, but the club has already identified a potential replacement.

Details: According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United is seriously considering signing Lille's attacking midfielder and England international Angel Gomes.

The 24-year-old Englishman's contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2025, but he is expected to become a free agent soon.

Interestingly, Angel Gomes is a Manchester United academy product, having left the club in the summer of 2020.

Gomes still holds the record as the youngest player to ever appear for Manchester United in a Premier League match, making his debut against Crystal Palace in 2017 at the age of 16 years, 8 months, and 20 days.

Reminder: Manchester United has reportedly already made arrangements with Xavi in case Erik ten Hag is sacked.
